Muscle Testing: The Gateway to the Subconscious Mind

Recently, I was interviewed about my journey to becoming an energy healer and was asked what is the most profound part of energy healing for you.

This was a really hard question to answer because there are so many things that make this type of healing extraordinary. My answer, though, was “muscle testing”. After you read this, I hope you’ll agree!

We are incredibly intelligent beings.

But it’s now widely understood that we use very little of our total brain’s capacity. Our conscious mind is actually very limited. It can only do so much without getting sidetracked. Just try meditating for a few minutes. Within a few seconds you’ll find your mind wandering to something else. Our conscious mind is only about 5 percent of our total intelligence. Scientists are now suggesting that it might be even less than that.

The much greater part of your brain power lies within the subconscious mind. It’s like a human computer. It’s active ALL the time and actually records everything you experience. Every face you’ve ever seen, every beautiful thing in nature, every smell, every song, every sound, every memory. It also stores every illness, every injury, every thought and feeling, every painful moment, the entire history of every cell in your body is archived in the subconscious mind.

Your subconscious knows everything your body needs to achieve better health and balance but most people don’t know how to tap into this knowledge. Imagine if we had access to that other 95 percent.

We actually do.

Muscle testing is designed to bring subconscious information to conscious awareness. What if you could easily find out exactly what you needed in order to do better or feel better? Can you imagine what the potential impact would be on your emotional and physical wellbeing?

Muscle testing allows us access to ALL OF THIS.

Now can you see why this was my answer to that interviewer’s question?

So, what exactly is muscle testing (aka applied kinesiology)? Since the early 1900’s physicians and osteopaths have been studying how the state of our muscles can reveal a whole host of things. Within and surrounding the body is an intricate electrical network of pure energy. Because energy runs through the muscles in your body, if anything impacts your electrical system that does not maintain or enhance your body’s balance, your muscles will virtually “short circuit” or weaken (don’t worry, only temporarily). Things that might have an impact on your electrical system are thoughts and emotions, foods, toxins, other substances, and numerous imbalances..

Using your muscles, we can discover what  “weakens” or “strengthens” your body. This process is called applied kinesiology or more commonly referred to as “muscle testing.” Muscle testing taps into the subconscious mind which allows us to answer questions about our physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It's a noninvasive method designed to determine the potential underlying causes of physical and emotional issues. It’s simply a really cool way we can ask your body questions and get clear answers – like a direct line to the subconscious mind.

There are a number of different, quick and effective muscle testing techniques. Here is a sample of a simple muscle testing technique that you can try  yourself now. Most people can pick this up easily and are said to be “testable”. Sometimes people struggle with this or it may require some practice to be accurate and consistent. Don’t give up so that you can find a whole new way to communicate with your body and unconscious mind.

Why is muscle testing important?

Muscle testing can give us insight into the inner workings of our subconscious in ways that western medicine techniques can’t. Not only does proper muscle testing allow us to identify the stresses and imbalances within our bodies, but because a majority of our physical, emotional, and mental processing occurs outside of our awareness, muscle testing is also an effective way to pinpoint key happenings at an unconscious level. Both practitioners and clients find that muscle testing is a beneficial way to achieve a stable mind-body balance.

Even as I write it, I am in awe. So amazing that this is available to us all!

How is muscle testing done?

Energy healing with muscle testing is a unique, life-changing approach.

It’s helpful to understand the difference between a strong (positive) response and a weak (negative) response. Therefore, when accessing your subconscious by asking various ‘yes’ and ‘no’ questions, your muscles will respond by either remaining strong for questions that ring true or will falter with weakness when answers are false.

The amazing thing is the vast amount of information we can access with muscle testing.

How Is Muscle Testing Used During Sessions?

Since the focus of our sessions is on discovering the root causes of your challenges, we will be using your body’s muscle reactions to find what might be at the core of some of your issues. Because your subconscious mind knows everything, we can ask it “yes” or “no” questions and watch for how your energy or electrical system reacts. If we make a statement that is true, your electrical system will continue to flow and the circuits remain strong, allowing your muscles to retain strength. If we make a statement that is false, your energy system will temporarily short circuit and your muscles will quickly weaken or lock up.

In order to find out what your subconscious mind and body are congruent with, we ask very targeted questions to get clues to what emotional aspects might need to be addressed.

This process is fascinating and the clues we get can be invaluable to your healing.

In some cases, I will teach you how to use self muscle-testing (testing on your own muscles) to get these answers. In other cases, I will be using “proxy” muscle testing for you.

How Does Proxy Muscle Testing Work For Phone/Zoom Appointments?

Proxy testing is muscle testing that is done on myself, for you. Our bodies have a built-in capability to connect to or “call” someone else, like a cell phone. When we do this, we create an energetic connection with them. Once you’re connected, you can get answers about what is going on with this other person’s body, because you’re picking up their energetic flow or signal. Proxy work can also be used to correct energetic imbalances on another too. Again, since you are connected to their energy field (and energy knows no space and time – just like when you’re thinking of someone and they call you!), it can be done regardless of distance.

I simply ask questions and get answers on myself that reflect what’s going on in your energy system.

There is so much we know about why this works as it relates to quantum physics but the great thing is you don’t have to understand it all or even believe in this for it be extremely accurate and provide healing.

I would love to share this with you so you can experience the incredible depth of healing for yourself!
